In 1965, a real estate professional named Dale Rector and his revolutionary idea to put “agents first” was about to transform the real estate industry; starting with the Phoenix, Arizona market and creating a ripple effect that would reach around the globe.

The concept; designed to provide the maximum benefit to the most productive, experienced and effective real estate agents, is what made Realty Executives different from the competition in 1965, and continues to make us different today.

Before Dale Rector came upon the scene, in the world of residential real estate, 20% of the agents were doing 80% of the business. However, the common commission systems of the day treated all agents the same, whether they did one transaction a year or 10 a month. Dale Rector and Realty Executives changed all of that by introducing the first 100% commission concept, awarding and attracting the best in the business to become “Executives” and offering real estate associates an environment that was truly agent-centric and designed to best support the professional real estate practitioner.

Realty Executives and the 100% commission concept rapidly took hold of the real estate industry. By 1987, the company began franchising. Today, Realty Executives has an international presence, with over 500 offices and more than 7,800 Executives around the globe. Jeff Murtaugh Jeff Murtaugh

Jeff Murtaugh has more than 37 years in commercial, residential, investment, management, brokerage, development, entitlement, stabilization, lease up and disposition of all sectors of real estate. Jeff is a Partner of Kinetic Companies, and is the President and CEO of Realty Executives Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma, Green Valley and Tubac, Arizona. As one of Kinetic Companies operating assets, the Realty Executives company includes over 1,000 agents/brokers in 16 offices generating more than $2.7 billion in annual sales. As a “Top 25 Real Estate Company in the US” (according to Real Trends rankings) Jeff manages the day-to-day operations and closing of approximately 15,000 real estate sides annually. Mr. Murtaugh also oversees the day-to-day affiliate company holdings such as title, mortgage, and many other associated asset services for the Realty Executives franchise

As a leader in the national defaulted asset market, Mr. Murtaugh has sold assets in 38 states, brokering over $2.5 billion in aggregate consideration in this facet of his career alone. Mr. Murtaugh has syndicated, formed, and partnered on numerous companies and assets nationwide raising over $100 million in equity. His vast operations experience has included past direct management and daily control of Long Commercial and Best Companies. His extensive brokerage career spans nearly four decades while building over 1,300 production and spec custom homes throughout the southwestern United States.

Mr. Murtaugh is a 42 year resident of Tucson and grew up in Lexington, MA, and attended New Preparatory High School in Harvard Square, Cambridge, and Northeastern University, Boston.

John Dwyer John Dwyer

Responsible for Southern Arizona operations: Tucson Metro, Green Valley and Tubac.  John has a leadership philosophy with a "boots on the ground" approach, and is not afraid to be "in the trenches" with the agents that fill our offices.  Mr. Dwyer is very hands on and leads with a service minded approach in the real estate industry.

John has been in a sales and management role since his University of Arizona days.  He began his management career in the retail environment until he launched his real estate career in the early 80's in Tucson.  During the 80's and until 1992 he was a successful real estate agent.  In 1992 he was named Branch Manager of Long Realty Company's Central Office, a position he held for  11 years.  During the last few years of his tenure as Manager of Long's Central Office he concurrently held the position of Regional Manager overseeing the operation of a number of their offices. John was then promoted to VP and General Manager for Long Realty Company.  

After retiring from Long Realty in 2005, John acted in a consulting role for two brokerages in Phoenix to help them increase their overall growth and profitability until he was recruited by Lending Tree to establish and grow their real estate brokerage business under the name of RealEstate.com.  John's position was VP and General Manager for RealEstate.com; LendingTree's Southwest Real Estate Operations.

John joined Realty Executives in 2012 and has been a driving force in the Tucson, Green Valley and Tubac growth.

Mark Shinn Mark L. Shinn

Legal, Regulatory Compliance and Direct Agent Support in these areas for the Brokerage.  Mark believes that it is easier to prevent complex situations that it is to clean up one.  To that end, our goal is to make sure things are done correctly the first time.  

Mark has over thirty years of real estate experience that includes owning and operating Old Adobe Realty until it merged with Realty Executives in 2013.  Mark served as Designated Broker for his real estate company giving him the long term expertise necessary to fulfill his current position.  Mark is proud to say, "During my 25 years as Designated Broker, I had no claims, lawsuits or mediaton or arbitrations."   In addition, Mark is a Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) and is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS).
Rounding out Mr. Shinn's real estate background was co-management of a hundred million, high-end real estate project in Mexico.   Mark is also a loyal University of Arizona fan, having graduated as a "Wildcat" with a Bachelors of Arts Degree.
Tina Sheridan Tina M. Sheridan

As a Vice President, Tina Sheridan contributes a wealth of real estate, marketing, technology, mortgage, accounting as well as business management experience to her multi-faceted role at Realty Executives.  

Tina has a "pioneering spirit" and is a highly motivated out-of-the-box thinker with the ability to successfully implement a modern sales model, modern sales tools and successful business practices that border cutting edge.  Tina has the ability to work as a team or independently. Many times you will see Tina assisting Jeff Murtaugh and John Dwyer with day-to-day operations, and another working independently on the latest technology, or marketing the "brand" as the company.  But no matter what the task at hand, Tina is always eager to help.
Many Arizonan's know Ms. Sheridan from her extensive experience in the mortgage industry where she led her own brokerage, Choice Funding, for six years.  Tina held a Senior Associate position with a very successful brokerage in Tucson for the prior nine years.  Her banking career started at sixteen with Valley National Bank in Tucson, while graduating from high school at the same time. There is no doubt she is a go-getter when it comes to business, and is willing to take on challenges most would not. Her mortgage lending career was filled with accolades in the industry and she tackled some of the most challenging residential, commercial and construction lending projects in the state of Arizona as well as nationally.  Tina was known for her involvement in representing "Women in Business", "Green Energy Homes" and working with renowned Builders and Developers locally and across the the United States.  
Tina holds many awards and accolades for her accomplishments in and around the real estate industry, sales and business leadership in Tucson.  Tina participates in many charity events within the community, with her focus on "youth on their own".
Tina Sheridan is a native Tucsonan and joined Realty Executives in late 2011. 
Deneve Doering Deneve Doering

As the Business and Agent Development  Coordinator, Deneve Doering brings over 18 years of accounting, mortgage processing and customer service experience to the Realty Executives Tucson, Green Valley and Tubac team.  

With her primary focus on Agent Development, she uses the latest technology to enhance the exposure for our Executives and their Inventory through social media, networking and one-on-one planning. Deneve is "agent facing" and works directly to recruit, assist and market our on board agents.

Deneve represents the “high touch” philosophy of Realty Executives in Southern Arizona.  Realty Executives in Tucson, Green Valley and Tubac are known for their “Agent Centric” philosophy and it is a top priority that permeates the offices within each and every location. Deneve's “drive” coupled with strong “interpersonal skills” leaves no doubt she is a huge asset to the service we provide our Executives as well as our continued growth throughout Southern Arizona.
